Behind a great advert is a great crew, and behind a great crew involves great planning. Before the process of filming one as to make sure filming equipments are intact and ready for use, also one has to make sure that there are spare equipment in case any damage happen to the originally ones being used. Also it is imperative that one creates their story board before hand in order to avoid hiccups during filming.
At the
beginning the filming, we signed out the recording equipment at Robert clack
lower school, we recorded the date, day time we collected the equipment in a
book. (Tripod, camera, tape). During the filming first location we used was the
Robert clack upper school. Our first location had good lightning hence we had
booked a drama studio with studio lights that was an advantage for filming,
however the footage did not come out to match our expectations. We decided to change
our setting and move back to the lower school where we could use somewhere with
natural lighting that would work better for the filming.
Each member of the crew had their parts, here was one actress whose job was to into the camera and give eye contacts, there was also the voice over person whose job was to, rehearse a of written dialogue and voice it by recording it on the computer. there was also the location caterer who provided us with food and drinks to refresh our system every now and then. My role was to be the director and
the camera person, I directed the actor to give eye movement that made the
eyelashes noticeable and makes it obvious that we are advertising an eye
product. In our story board we had planned out how our footage was going to be
filmed, but because we had changed our location we had to skip some of the
things we would have loved to do. I also instructed the actor to include head
movement to give the audience something else to look at and to make it re interesting
to watch rather than just concentrating on the eyes alone. Majority of our
footage were close up of the eyes and medium shot of the head. We did not major
health and issue as what we were doing did not involve any extreme actions. The
only is we had was making sure the mascara was properly sterilized and clean
enough for the actor to apply on her lashes.
After filming
the footage the next step was the upload it, the editing app we used is final
cut express.

I
uploaded the clip to the computer

The
voice over needed to be louder than the background music, therefore the volume
of back ground music was faint while the voice dominated but the voice over
ended the volume of the music increased.
